HUNTER-founded caravan hire platform Camplify is urging local van owners to provide free accommodation solutions for bushfire impacted residents and relief workers.

Camplify founder Justin Hales said his company has the largest caravan and motorhome sharing community in Australia and the peer-to-peer platform aimed to build a network of people willing to temporarily share their vans with those in need.

He said Camplify was giving van owners, manufacturers and dealers the tools they need to offer temporary accommodation for those in need, and is offering a free month of hiring insurance to van owners who help.

"Our thoughts go out to those impacted during this incredibly challenging and devastating time. At the heart of our business is a community of thousands of van owners around Australia, all passionate about sharing with others," Mr Hales said.

Hunter-based MJH Group has also set up the Facebook group Caravans4Bushfires, urging residents to donate caravans for temporary use for those impacted by fires.
