Campervan and two cars badly damaged by deliberate blaze near Milton

A campervan and two cars have been badly damaged after a deliberate blaze in the Milton area.

The vehicles were parked outside a house on Ashgill Road when they were set alight around 2am on Tuesday, June 22.

A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution while the fire was extinguished.

Police have described the incident as a 'reckless and deliberate act' and are hunting those responsible.

Detective Inspector Graham McCreadie of Maryhill Police Station said: “Fortunately no one was injured as a result of this fire, however, this was a reckless and deliberate act and we are urging anyone with information that may assist our ongoing investigation to contact us.

“We have been carrying out enquiries and gathering CCTV from the local area to gather more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace those responsible.

“Anyone with information should contact Maryhill Police Station through 101 with reference number 0267 of 22 June. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
