A potential long-term rival for Campbell Hatton has emerged and has planted the seed ahead of a future fight between the two.
The son of legendary Manchester boxer Ricky Hatton turned professional last year and fought five times, winning all five.
One of those victories came against Sonni Martinez on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk. Many had Hatton as the loser on points that night, with some arguing that he lost every single round. However, he was given the win by majority decision.
Hatton will continue building momentum and his profile whilst honing his skills as the 20-year-old looks to emulate his father's storied career.
And he could have found a new long-term rival to aspire towards fighting with Irishman Steven Cairns has stating that Hatton could be a future opponent.
Cairns, an exciting young prospect, is just two fights into his career after turning professional but looks to be one to look out for in the future.
The teenager posted an image with Hatton, teasing a potential fight.
Hatton signed a deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sports earlier this year, and will continue to fight on undercards likely to be televised - meaning he'll become used to fighting under the spotlight.
Cairns meanwhile, has fought at smaller events and will continue to as he looks to build his reputation.
He had 47 amateur fights, winning 38 of them.
