Campbell Hatton has registered the first knockout win of his career and now boasts a 5-0 record after stopping Attila Csereklye in the second round in Bilbao.
Hatton unleashed a flurry of punches on his Hungarian opponent and caught him with a stinging left upper-cut which left him on the canvass.
Csereklye shook his head during the referee’s count indicating that he’d had enough.
The conclusive nature of the win will come as a relief for Hatton after the controversy that surrounded his victory over Sonny Martinez in September.
The 20-year-old Mancunian appeared to lose the contest to Martinez only for the referee to rule the bout in his favour.
Hatton was ecstatic after the first knockout win of his fledgling career, and revealed a slight change in approach helped him stop his opponent.
“I’m buzzing! Just shows, I think from the start I weren’t trying to stop him straight away. He told DAZN.
“I was trying to make him miss a bit more, use my jab and it happened by accident so I know what to do next time.”
Hatton, son of the legendary Ricky, has been boxing since the age of 14 and has won the National Novice championship, as well as two North west titles.
