In a boost for their Rugby World Cup campaign, the Brave Blossoms, ranked 11th in the world rugby rankings, defeated ninth-placed Fiji 34-21 in their first test match of the year. Japan is hosting two PNC games in preparation for the World Cup, which will kick off on Sept. 20 in Japan. Japan will play 13th-placed Tonga next Saturday at the Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashi-Osaka, Osaka Prefecture. Japan will also play a PNC game against the United States in Fiji on Aug. 10.
