'We have been here three times. It’s a great first festival to come to because it’s not full of rowdy teenagers getting drunk and causing trouble. It’s like a training slope for the bigger festivals! Who do we want to see here? Hudson Taylor, Labrinth and DJ Fresh – and Musical Youth, even though we weren’t born when they were around!'

'Why are we in costumes? Ben wanted to come as Yoda and we had to support him. Camp Bestival is great for kids because they can run wild. It is small enough to get around easily, unlike Glastonbury where you seem to spend all of your time trudging around and missing things. It is really civilized here and we know that we’re not going to spend the weekend getting attacked by drunken middle-aged men who want to fight the empire.'

'I’m down with a gang of about 12 friends from Wales and it’s my sixth time at Camp Bestival. It’s fantastic because it is just so colourful and it has so much diversity – it’s not remotely as pretentious as a lot of the other festivals. Fake Bush is going to be hard to follow because she is awesome, but I like a good dance so I am going to make sure that I see Labrinth later.'

Matt: 'This is our fourth Camp Bestival. We love it because it is so family-oriented. We always know it will be a great event: we don’t even bother to look in advance who is on the bill. I am looking forward to seeing Billy Bragg, which is probably showing my age. The kids always have a ball and they love staying up late.' Emily: 'Last night I was up until 11! Today, I want to see Mr Tumble! Why? Because he’s funny, of course!'
