Cameron Devlin gets Hearts transfer green light as Robbie Neilson confirms UK visa approval

Hearts have been given the green light to sign Australian midfielder Cameron Devlin before the transfer window closes.

The Jambos had agreed a deal with Newcastle Jets for the 23-year-old who is set to become Robbie Neilson's fourth new signing of the summer.

The deal had been held up by the UK immigration office as he applied for a work permit.

But Neilson has confirmed that has been approved and will move to Hearts on a long-term contract before the window shuts.

Neilson told the Edinburgh Evening News: “The visa has been approved so now we’re just trying to get him over here.

“We are hopeful of getting him in as soon as we can. It depends on whether he needs to isolate but it has all been authorised.”

As things stand, Australia is on the UK's green list meaning no isolation period should be required provided he tests negative on arrival.

That means Devlin could even feature against Dundee United next weekend.

Failing that, his debut would likely come against Hibs in the Edinburgh Derby after the international break.
