Cameron Carter Vickers in fresh Celtic transfer update as he promises the best is yet to come

Celtic loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers is happy to play the waiting game over his long-term future but believes the best is yet to come under Ange Postecoglou.

The 23-year-old has been brilliant this season since joining on loan from Spurs. with his uncompromising style key during the 2-1 Premier Sports Cup Final win over Hibs.

The USA international has landed silverware for the first time during his career and hopes it's the start of bigger and better things.

But he admits he isn't in any rush to firm up his own future, with only one year remaining on his current Tottenham deal at the end of his Parkhead stint.

Record Sport understands Celtic have been told it will cost around £10million, including add-ons, to secure Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I am enjoying my time up there, it's all going well, but it's a bit too early, it's not fully down to me as well.

"It's obviously discussions that will have to be had at the end of the season."

And the defender admits he's loving life under Postecoglou, with their high-octane brand of football capturing hearts and minds in Glasgow's east end.

And he reckons it's the Australian's ability to unite the whole squad which is really making the difference this season.

He added: "He's a really good manager, to be fair. All the boys really believe in the way he wants to play, and we are right behind him on that, and we want to play the same football he wants to play.

"That makes it good, that makes it easier on him, I would say.

"It's still the start of a long process for him at Celtic and for the team, I think there is still a lot more to come, and more to learn from what he wants, I think we will improve.

"He's a great guy, to be fair, he's looked after all the players, from the ones who are playing every week to the ones who aren't.

"We really feel he is working to get the best out of us.

"The whole squad and the manager is fully aware of that (winning the league), it's something we know we need to work towards.

"The league runs throughout the whole season, it's a grind, it's something we are aware of, that we go into games and training and you need to perform and get three points."

And Carter-Vickers paid a heartfelt tribute to the 30,000 supporters who were inside Hampden to roar their side over the line on Sunday.

He said: "The atmosphere in the semi final was one of the best and yesterday probably topped it.

"From start to finish, the Celtic fans are amazing. They sing right through games, they really get behind us and that really helped us.

"The support is amazing, I know a lot of people say that, but up here it is generally top, it does really, really help the team.

"You can feel they are right behind you, whether that's a league game, a Cup game, European game, you always hear them."
