Cameron Boyce: Disney star's death caused by epilepsy, coroner's report confirms

Cameron Boyce’s death was linked to his epilepsy, a report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has revealed.

The Disney Channel star died on 6 July aged 20, prompting a widespread outpouring of grief from fans and fellow entertainment stars.

The coroner’s report, which called Boyce’s death a “sudden unexpected death from epilepsy”, was consistent with his family’s earlier statement that attributed his death to the ongoing medical condition.

Boyce was best known for his starring roles on Jesse, from 2011 to 2015, and the Descendants movies as Carlos de Vil – the son of Cruella de Vil.

Other credits include Disney XD’s series Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, and a role as Adam Sandler’s spoiled son in the comedy films Grown-Ups and Grown-Ups 2.

Boyce will appear in the forthcoming third instalment of the Descendants series, which will be broadcast in his memory.

The Disney Channel cancelled the red carpet premiere of the film in honour of Boyce earlier this month, and said it will be making a donation to non-profit The Third Project instead.
