Camera equipment worth £50,000 stolen during Glasgow break-in

An appeal has been launched after camera equipment worth £50,000 was stolen during a break-in at a Glasgow industrial unit.

Officers were called to the property in Oakbank Industrial Estate at around 1am this morning (Sunday, January 31), after reports of the shutter being forced and a glass door being smashed during a break-in.

Various models of camera were taken, including Sony, Fuji, Sigma and Canon - thought to be worth around £50,000.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.

Constable John Whitelaw, of Govan Police Station, said: “We are asking anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area at the time of the incident, to please get in touch as you may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"You can contact local officers by calling 101, and quoting reference number 0235 of Sunday, 31 January, 2021."

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
