A teenager was stabbed in the head repeatedly after he was ran over with a 4x4 during an attack in north London.

The 18-year-old had been walking by himself past Sainsbury’s, on Hampstead Road, in Camden, before the vicious ambush on Tuesday, at about 1am.

Officers said the young man was “knocked over by a 4x4 vehicle” and then “the occupants got out and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing”.

The teenager, police said, is currently in hospital with life-changing injuries, including a stab wound to his head.

Police have urged anyone who may have any information about the attack to come forward.

Detective Constable Ben Davis of the Central North Command Unit, said: “"We are working to establish the full circumstances and urge anyone who has information or dash camera footage that could help us to come forward.

“A young man is in hospital with life-changing injuries and it is imperative that we find those responsible."

The man was attacked only hours after another young man was fatally stabbed in Battersea.

Lejean Richards, 19, was knifed in the chest in Battersea in the latest episode in a wave of bloodshed on the capital’s streets.

Medics performed surgery in the street but he was pronounced dead 40 minutes later, at 8.36pm.
