Police are appealing for information after a man was shot in the chest in Camden.

A 23-year-old man arrived at a north London hospital just after midnight last Thursday.

He had gunshot wounds to his chest, which were not life-threatening or changing, Scotland Yard said.

The victim was shot by an unknown assailant a short while earlier while he was with a group of friends in Castlehaven Park.

He then ran into the road and flagged down a passing motorist, who took him to hospital.

A crime scene is still in place and no arrests have been made.

Detectives are also trying to trace the driver as a potential witness.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC, quoting CAD 670/16Jul, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
