Cambusnethan man who admitted dealing cocaine avoids jail

A Cambusnethan man avoided jail on a cocaine dealing charge at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

Jack Ross, 23, of Mossneuk Park, admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug on December 5.

The court heard cocaine was recovered from his van in Gavin Street, Motherwell, and at his home.

Defence agent Stephen MacBride said if his client was offered a non-custodial sentence he would “grab it with both hands”.

Sheriff Thomas Millar ordered Ross to do 200 hours of unpaid community work.

Ross will also be tagged for four months, meaning he’s confined to his house from 9pm to 6am each day.
