Cambusnethan Club host first major event since pandemic with Halloween party

Ghosts and ghouls descended on a Wishaw club for one of its first major events since the pandemic.

The Cambusnethan Club was forced to close its doors for many months as COVID took hold of everyone’s lives.

After so many months closed down the Camby Club and its hard working committee are trying to get back to some normality.

On Sunday afternoon a Halloween party was held in the club for members and their guests.

A show was put on with entertainment by local singer Carol Paris.

Camby Club president Jim Ballantyne was delighted at the turnout.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “This was a free event and no charge made for admission.

“Members and guests were encouraged to come along in fancy dress although this was not mandatory.

“It was to see the hall busy and there were some really great costumes on show.”

As a further move to normality, it has just been announced that the club’s Hogmanay Party will go ahead this year.

Jim added: “We are hoping to see as many people along on Hogmanay.

“It’s been a hard 18 months or so but we are still here and looking forward to the next few months with the events we have on.”
