Cambuslang road set to close for a month for gas works to take place

Drivers are to face disruption in Cambuslang, with a busy road set to be sidelined for a month.

Gas company SGN are carrying out work to upgrade their network, but the project will see Greenlees Road shut over a four week period.

The first phase of the work will begin on October 14 between East Greenlees Grove and Greenlees Way and will last for two weeks.

The second phase, also scheduled to last for a fortnight, will see work taking place on the junction with Greenlees Way to outside number 9 Greenlees Way, on Greenlees Road.

An SGN statement confirmed that: "To ensure everyone’s safety, a road closure will be in place and local diversions will be signposted.

"We’ll be posting regular updates on our website and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.

"Please feel free to share this information with your stakeholders and anyone else who may be impacted by our work.

"If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager Ryan MacCunn on 07816 411 888 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times."
