Cambuslang Rangers bid to break club record at Daly Thistle

Cambuslang Rangers can set a new club record this afternoon if the manage to shut out Dalry Thistle.

The Somervell Park side have kept seven consecutive clean sheets and if they hold firm in their West of Scotland Conference B clash at Merksworth Park the league leaders will beat their previous best, which was set in 1973.

And Camby co-boss Billy Campbell, whose side beat Ardeer Thistle 7-0 last Saturday, said: “The chance of a record will give the boys another wee bit of drive for Saturday.

“If it can be achieved that’s great but the most important thing for them is to win the game and keep our lead at the top of the table.”

Goalkeeper Andy Wilson has been working with Glasgow Rangers legend Andy Goram since the start of the season and the shot-stopper work with 'The Goalie' has certainly paid off.

Camby are four points clear of rivals St Cadoc's at the top of the table and have won 16 games from 18 in the league.

Today's clash is a 1.30pm kick-off.
