Cambuslang gaelic football side Tir Connail Harps pre-season in chaos as weather woe continues

Tir Connail Harps’ chairman admits the Cambuslang Rugby Club pitch is causing havoc for their pre-season training, with the kick-off just weeks away.

The Harps have been unable to train on their home turf due to the weather with the gaelic football side training on artificial surfaces across the country.

Supremo Anton Gallagher confirmed they had attempted to get back to Lanarkshire but the players “were skating around the pitch.”

Their season will begin with a trip to Edinburgh to face Dunedin Connollys, before hosting Aberdeenshire side Dalriada.

Having won the Gaelic Football Junior League and the GAA trophy with an unbeaten home record, Gallagher was keen to get back in town.

He said: “In terms of our adult section it has been hard going.

“We are really keen to get back but the weather is just causing havoc.

“We had an unbeaten record at home last season and were bringing in crowds of 200. We want to keep that going this season.”
