Resurfacing of roads in Cambuskenneth is a priority, a villager insisted this week.
Conservation area resident Karin Beckett, of North Street, said the road – and the adjacent Ladysneuk Road – are in urgent need of work to bring them up to standard.
She added: “Complaints have been made to the council over the past few years.
“North Street is badly in need of re-surfacing. All the council have done so far is put tar in some of the worn surfaces.
“Nearby St James Orchard was completely re-tarred – which only has about six houses compared to the 25 houses/flats in North St.
“Ladysneuk Road has just been covered in grit, with no communication from the council as to what is happening.
“This surface is totally unacceptable for the amount of traffic on that road.
“The pavement on my side of the road has also flattened due to traffic driving on that side of the road because cars are always parked along the other side.

“Villagers are bound by council planning restrictions if we want to do anything to our homes to ‘preserve the historic look of the village’ yet the council does nothing about how this road looks.”
A Stirling Council spokesperson said this week: “We have committed £4.6m to repairing and upgrading roads and pathways across Stirling during this financial year.
“North Street in Cambuskenneth is scheduled for resurfacing works during the next financial year (2022/23).
“We would ask members of the public who spot a road defect to report the matter via our website at https://my.stirling.gov.uk/forms and our teams will respond.”
