A police force is trying to return a massive haul of burgled jewellery and goods with their rightful owners.

Cambridgeshire Police have thousands of items of property which were recovered after the force busted a prolific crime gang.

On Wednesday, it released a massive Flickr gallery of stolen items and urged owners to get in touch with any possible proof of purchase.

The smash-and-grab gang, which is now behind bars, carried out more than 200 burglaries between January 2016 and January last year.

The crooks would mask their faces using balaclavas and smash or force open doors or windows in broad daylight.

They stole £2million of property, with items typically including high-powered BMWs and Audis, firearms, cash and jewellery.

The raids took place across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Bedfordshire.

Ten men were jailed for a combined total of 71 years after being convicted in connection with the raids.

Burglary victims who believe an item belongs to them are asked to email operationhawkesbury@cambs.pnn.police.uk with their name, date and address of offence, crime number, exhibit number or album-photo reference of property, contact details and any receipts or proof of purchase or photographs of items.
