Cambridge paper declares bus pass victory

The Cambridge News has declared victory in its four-month campaign to win pensioners in Cambridgeshire the right to free travel. From October, the county's over 60s and its disabled - some 140,000 people - will be able to travel far and wide for free on buses. The new deal has been agreed with bus operators by county, district and city council chiefs after pressure from the paper. As part of its campaign, the News presented a petition to 10 Downing Street.
