Cambridge opticians has been recognised for its customer service in prestigious industry awards

An independent opticians has won a regional award in recognition of its high level of customer service and experience.

Clamp Optometrists, on St Andrew’s Street in Cambridge, has won the Eye Care Specialists of the Year award at the annual 2020 Cambridgeshire Prestige Awards.

The awards celebrate small and medium-sized businesses that have thrived and have proven their success during the past 12 months, with winners chosen based on their marketing and branding, business growth methods, customer experience and approach to new ideas.

Clamp clinical director Mitesh Gandhi said: “To win this award is amazing and I’m so proud of the team for the effort they put in every day.

“At Clamp we believe everyone deserves the best, especially in their eye care; everyone in the team works towards the same goal of improving the patient journey.

“We all work tirelessly every day to try and deliver excellent clinical care and attention to detail, so it’s a great privilege to be recognised across the Cambridgeshire area with this award.”

The business has a long heritage in Cambridge, having been established more than 100 years ago, during which time it has served several generations of patients.

The practice makes an effort to accommodate all patients, including by opening seven days a week and even offering late night appointments on Wednesdays by staying open until 8pm.

David Arnott, Clamp practice manager and director, said: “Offering Sunday and late-night appointments during the week is all about providing our patients with as much flexibility as possible, which we believe only enhances the patient experience that we offer.

“This practice has become almost like a second home here as I’ve been with the practice for over 20 years and that means I’ve got to know our patients really well; I always look forward to welcoming them back.

“We’re really pleased to be able to share this award with our patients and we’d like to thank them for their continued support.”
