Cambridge newspaper group buys another title

Iliffe News and Media, the Cambridge-based newspaper group that has suddenly become acquisitive over the past year, has bought another title - the Heartland Evening News - from the independent publisher, Nuneaton and District Newspapers. The Heartland Evening News, which covers Nuneaton, Bedworth, Atherstone and Hinckley, will be folded into Iliffe's Staffordshire division. David Fordham, publishing director of Iliffe's ultimated owners, Yattendon Investment Trust, said: "This is the third newspaper acquisition within the past year and it dovetails neatly into our existing business. This further demonstrates our strategic commitment to grow our print and digital media interests." (Via holdthefrontpage.co.uk)
