SURIN: About 100 Cambodians led by their local administrators crossed the border to lay funeral flowers in Kap Choeng district.

The people came from adjacent Samraong district of Oddar Meanchey province and laid funeral flowers at a crematorium replica.

Samraong administrators led about 100 Cambodian vendors who trade regularly at the Chong Chom border market in Kap Choeng to join tens of thousands of local residents in the flower-laying ceremony at the crematorium replica at the Kap Choeng district office.

Samraong assistant chief Nea Kamol said she and other Cambodians who came along were honoured to participate in the very important activity. The people of Samraong and Kap Choeng districts had close ties with their neighbours across the border, she said, both in terms of their religion and the royal institution.
