Australian filmmaker James Ricketson has been found guilty of espionage and sentenced to six years in a Cambodian prison.
The court ruled that Ricketson, 69, had for more than 20 years used his documentary projects and humanitarian work as cover while collecting information that could jeopardise Cambodia's national security, despite a prosecution that offered little evidence to support the charge.
Having already been locked in the Prey Sar prison for 14 months, Mr Ricketson is suffering a number of health issues.
He has 30 days to appeal the sentence.
More to come.
