Cam Sims finally gets his shot with Redskins

It is Cam Sims time again for the Washington Redskins.

Sims has been a popular name with Redskins fans since joining the team via undrafted free agency in 2018. He’s a big-play artist who went down with an injury and fell on the backburner though, prompting coaches to call him a “forgotten guy,” in a good way.

While he didn’t end up making the final roster, Sims just got promoted from the practice squad and has a chance to contribute against the New England Patriots this weekend.

“I’m just ready to go to work now, take it day by day, whatever falls I’m ready,” Sims said, according to Jacob Steinberg of Redskins.com.

Sims might break into the lineup often with Terry McLaurin still dealing with a nagging issue after the release of Robert Davis.

And if Sims does break out? The Redskins suddenly have a good problem on their hands, as 6’5″ targets who make plays don’t come around often. In what could be a shootout, keep an eye out for No. 89.
