Cam Newton was not going to let Mac Jones deny him on this high five

Mac Jones was on fire in the third quarter against the New York Giants.

The New England Patriots finished the preseason undefeated after a thrilling 22-20 victory. Jones’ 17-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Zuber and Rhamondre Stevenson’s nine-yard touchdown carry in the third quarter were the essential plays leading to the victory.

Jones finished the night throwing 10 of 14 for 156 yards and a touchdown to end the preseason on a high note. He was clearly juiced up after Stevenson’s touchdown while pacing down the sideline — so juiced up he completely disregarded Newton, who was attempting to high-five him.

Newton followed Jones for at least ten seconds before Jones acknowledged him and showed love back with a high five.

Bill Belichick is still unsure of the Patriots’ Week 1 starter, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the rookie earned it.
