Cam Newton’s electrified facial expression in this photo sums up his Patriots’ debut

Cam Newton had himself a day.

In his New England Patriots debut, Newton rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, along with 155 passing yards. He changed plays at the line of scrimmage and was in control of the Patriots’ new-look offense. The Patriots pulled away with a 21-11 win over the Miami Dolphins at home.

The rush-heavy approach worked for Josh McDaniels and Newton’s ability to make split-second decisions made it much harder for Miami to read. Undrafted free agent rookie J.J. Taylor made a name for himself and the run-ing back committee presented issues all day for the Dolphins. Newton was in paradise with his new team and it showed in this picture of him on the phone.

The Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks next week on the road and will have a much larger challenge in front of them.
