Cam Newton’s annual celebrity kickball tournament draws big names, familiar faces

The Carolina Panthers began rookie minicamp today, but the team’s franchise quarterback was also busy. Not far from where the class of 2019 got down to business for the first time, Cam Newton hosted his annual celebrity kickball tournament at Bank of America Stadium.

As usual, Newton’s event drew familiar faces as well as some surprise guests. Here’s a review of who showed up.

Thomas Davis

Josh Norman and Mike Tolbert

Luke Kuechly

Christian McCaffrey

Myles Garrett

As cool as it is to see old teammates and guys like Garrett, they were all outshone by a much more famous individual.

The biggest name by far belonged to that of Evander Holyfield, former world heavyweight champion and father of recently signed Panthers running back Elijah Holyfield, who played his college ball at Georgia.

Holyfield himself is a Falcons fan, but that didn’t stop Newton from gifting him a special jersey.
