Cam Newton celebrates on Panthers logo after amazing TD run

The energy and emotion for Cam Newton’s return to Bank of America Stadium are reaching levels of overload right now. Can it be contained?

Well, the Washington Football Team has yet to contain that or Newton and the Panthers offense here in Week 11. For his second score back home, the sport’s most prolific rushing quarterback of all-time threw it back and danced into the end zone—just like good old times.

Then, after the play, Newton made sure to let everyone know whose city and whose team this is . . .

Newton’s electric 24-yard run capped off a five-play, 70-yard drive and helped put the Panthers ahead, 14-7, at the 5:52 mark of the second quarter.

It also gave Newton his 44th career game of at least one passing and one rushing touchdown—the most, of course, in NFL history. His 10-yard throw to wideout DJ Moore on Carolina’s opening possession of the afternoon accounted for the first of that pair of touchdowns.
