Hearts have confirmed the signing of Cam Devlin on a three-year deal.
The Australian midfielder’s switch to Tynecastle has been in the works for several weeks now.
A UK work visa was secured last week and Devlin began his mammoth journey from Oz to Edinburgh last Thursday.
He sent fans an excited video message from an airport in Hong Kong before eventually landing in the capital last Friday.
Devlin was then snapped at Tannadice on Saturday to watch his new teammates continue their unbeaten start to the Premiership season with a 2-0 win over Dundee United.
Despite having only signed for previous club Newcastle jets in June, Hearts ’ interest meant Devlin was keen to make the move to Europe after establishing himself as a player of real promise Down Under.
Hearts cup-winning hero and Devlin’s former Sydney FC teammate Ryan McGowan helped seal the deal as he supplied a glowing reference for life in Gorgie.
Devlin will train with Robbie Neilson ’s squad over the next two weeks with a view to making his Hearts debut in the eagerly anticipated Edinburgh derby on 12 September.
