Calvin Miller dealt fresh Celtic blow as outcast defender shares post-op selfie

Calvin Miller has suffered another blow to his Celtic career after being ruled out for the season with injury.

The left-back was once named as the best young player in the world by the Football Youth Talents website, an accolade previously given to Barcelona superstar Neymar.

But Miller hasn't been able to live up to that billing, making just five appearances for the club and being loaned out to Dundee and Ayr United.

It now appears that the defender's Celtic career could be over, after he suffered an unspecified injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.

He wrote on Instagram: "Gutted to be out for the rest of the season but surgery went well and I’ll be back stronger,"

"Thanks to Shannon and Olivia especially couldn’t have done it without them."

The news is an even bigger blow for Miller, as his contract at Celtic Park expires at the end of the current season.

With the surgery meaning he'll no longer be able to impress manager Neil Lennon on the pitch, it looks increasingly likely he'll be allowed to leave in the summer.
