Calvin Johnson tabbed as Draft Wire’s best-ever prospect

Calvin Johnson was a special talent during his nine seasons with the Detroit Lions. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft was a pretty darn amazing prospect coming out of college, too.

Draft Wire editor Luke Easterling named Johnson as the best prospect he’s ever evaluated since taking up the profession nearly 20 years ago. Johnson was a freaky wide receiver prospect coming out of a run-dominant Georgia Tech program. Even though Johnson didn’t get a lot of opportunities to show what he could do, “Megatron” displayed incredible talent and ability with the Yellow Jackets.

He was called “Megatron” for a reason. Johnson was the closest thing to a perfect prospect I’ve ever seen.

Johnson was followed by Saquon Barkley and Andrew Luck.
