Calvin Johnson makes semifinalist list for Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year eligible

Calvin Johnson is a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction class of 2021. The great Lions wide receiver made the cutdown from the initial list of 130 to the final 25.

Johnson is in his first year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. He is one of four first-time eligible players who made the semifinalist list, along with Peyton Manning, Jared Allen and Charles Woodson.

He is the only player with Lions ties to make the semifinalist list. Johnson retired after the 2015 season. Johnson is one of four wide receivers on the list, along with Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne and Hines Ward. The Class of 2021 will be determined and announced during the week leading up to Super Bowl LV.

The full list of semifinalists is available from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
