Global DJ Calvin Harris is set to return to the stage this summer for a special homecoming performance in Glasgow.

The landmark concert will take place at Hampden Park and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1 Dance, and BBC Sounds on Saturday, August 1.

Calvin Harris, one of the world’s leading electronic music artists, said: "Coming back to Scotland to headline two dates at Hampden Park is a huge moment for me.

"I'm excited to play live in front of a home crowd and amazing to be partnering with the BBC and Sony Music Vision on the Saturday show."

The event will be broadcast as Calvin Harris: Live From Scotland, a programme announced by Sony Music Vision in association with Columbia Records UK, with coverage produced by BBC Studios Music Productions.

Filmed in front of a sold-out hometown crowd at one of Scotland’s biggest stadiums, the concert special is described as more than just a concert film, offering a full celebration of Harris’s influential career.

Tom Mackay, President of Sony Music Vision, said: "Calvin Harris is one of the defining artists of dance music, and this performance captures a truly special moment in his career.

"Together with our partners at the BBC, we're excited to share this landmark homecoming performance with viewers across the UK and celebrate the power of live music."

Harris’s show will feature a career-spanning set, showcasing the hits that have made him a global superstar.

Jonathan Rothery, Head of BBC Popular Music TV, said: "Bringing audiences unforgettable live music experiences from the world's biggest artists is at the heart of what we do, and there are few artists who have shaped contemporary dance music quite like Calvin Harris.

"We are delighted to bring his landmark homecoming show from Glasgow to audiences right across the UK, giving millions of fans the chance to be part of what promises to be a truly special night."

A multi-award-winning DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter, Harris has amassed more than 56 billion global streams, two UK number one albums, 11 UK number one singles, and 31 UK top 10 hits.

He continues to perform internationally, including a long-running residency in Las Vegas and a record-breaking double residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

The August 1 broadcast will be a multi-platform event, with content available on television, radio, and digital platforms to reach fans across the UK.

The special is directed by James Barnes and executive produced by Sony Music Vision, three-six-zero, and BBC Studios Music Productions.
