Calvin Harris 'died' in 2014 before doctors had to restart his heart

Calvin Harris has revealed that he technically died back in 2014.

The How Deep Is Your Love hit-maker, 36 was brought back to life after doctors restarted his heart.

In November of 2014, Calvin was forced to withdraw from a number major gigs after he suffered from “some heart problems”.

Taking to Twitter late last night, the world famous DJ revealed what really happened that year.

Alongside a video of his set at EDC Festival six years ago, he casually admitted that his heart was 'restarted' as he escalated on his journey making number one hits.

"Interesting year for me 2014, started with me knocking myself off number 1 in the UK and ended with my heart getting restarted in the ER.

"This sort of stuff happened in between," he tweeted.

Fans of the music producer immediately expressed their shock over his breezy confession.

"Did Calvin Harris just admit that temporarily died? What did I miss?” one user wrote.

"I remember! All that you said was you had heart problems to fix but damn! You never said your heart needed to be restarted!" another penned.

"This is shocking. I hope you are back in full health now" another fan added.

While a fourth quipped: "Just casually throwing it out there that you died and came back to life. Lol, fair play!".

Calvin was at the height of his fame in 2014, when his track Summer became the DJ’s highest-charting solo single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

He later opened up on his health issues and said he was drinking two bottles of whisky a night before giving up booze four years prior.

There's no denying that the DJ's music career went from strength to strength once he made the decision to quit the booze once and for all.

He released the number one hit How Deep Is Your Love with Disciples in January 2015 and was nominated for three Brit Awards.
