Calum Scott's secret tears after Take That Coronation concert performance

Calum Scott "bawled his eyes out" as soon as he came off stage after performing at the Coronation Concert over the weekend.

The Britain's Got Talent star made a surprise appearance at the grand event on Sunday evening.

Take That, including Gary Barlow, 52, Howard Donald, 55, and Mark Owen, 51, welcomed the singer on stage to perform their hit The Greatest Day.

They were among the likes of Katy Perry and Lionel Richie performing on the day.

However, Calum said he had a lot of 'nervous energy' during the lead-up to his performance and opened up about it on Lorraine.

"I mean, I had nervous energy the whole night. I mean, wait, I think I'd rather open [the night] because then I could just go enjoy the rest of the show," he said.

"I'll tell you because of the nervous energy I had after I'd been on, I just bawled my eyes out backstage and just cried.

"But I think it's because you know the magnitude of that gig and you're performing for the actual King, in his actual back garden. It's just ridiculous."

Take That closed the show on Sunday night so Calum had to wait hours before he finally got to perform.

While most fans were delighted to watch the band on stage, some were disappointed band member Jason Orange was seemingly 'replaced' by Calum.

The group - originally made up of Robbie Williams, Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason - were on hand to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla after they were crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

They impressed with tracks including Shine and Greatest Day before finishing off with Never Forget.

Fans of the trio were gutted that Jason wasn't on stage with them.

"Now would be a great time to bring Jason on guys!!! #CoronationConcert ," one wrote, as another added: "All we need now is Jason and Robbie."

A third shared: " #CoronationConcert get jason orange back."
