Calum Chambers has wished former Arsenal head coach Unai Emery the best of luck in the future.
Less than 24 hours after overseeing another disappointing result as well as performance - this time in the Europa League at home to Eintracht Frankfurt - the Spaniard saw his contract at the Emirates Stadium terminated.
The media as well as Gunners players alike are still coming to terms with the decision.
Emiliano Martinez was first to break the Arsenal players' silence with a social media post shortly after the announcement, while David Luiz and Dani Ceballos have since followed suit.
The Brazilian - who turned out to be the final signing during Emery's reign - took to social media to shoulder some of the blame.
Meanwhile, Ceballos thanked his compatriot for bringing him to the Premier League.
Chambers - who played in Emery's final game as Arsenal head coach - has now reacted to the news in public.
Taking two Twitter following a training session at London Colney, Chambers had a simple eight-word message.
"Thank you and good luck for the future!" he tweeted.
Chambers and Emery actually had an interesting exchange in training ahead of the Frankfurt clash.
During the open training session on Wednesday, the defender was one of the first players out onto the pitches and the 24-year-old engaged into deep conversation with Emery.
The conversation continues for at least a couple of minutes, as other players enter the pitch and greet the now ex-Arsenal head coach.
What the pair were talking about remains unclear, and perhaps details of that conversation may never come to light.
