Calories in your favourite cocktails revealed and what you need to do to burn them off

Pubs have re-opened and many of us can't wait for that first cocktail of the summer.

But during lockdown many of us have become our very own bartenders creating our own cocktail mixes at home.

Gigacalculator.com has calculated the UK's favourite cocktails, along with those that have the most calories.

It surveyed 5000 people, with Pina Colada and Mojito amongst the most loved cocktails at the minute and their findings revealed that in June, over 2 million people in the UK Googled the word 'cocktail'.

Summer staples like Sex on the Beach, Sangria and Aperol Spritz ranked in the top tier cocktails.

Mid tier includes Long Island Iced Tea, Margarita and Ginn Fizz, with Woo Woo and Tequila Sunrise being the least loved.

The most calorific cocktail is a Pina Colada which amounts to 245 calories per glass.

This is closely followed the Sex on the Beach with 236 calories.

Cocktails like Mint Julep with 185 calories, Whiskey Sour with 178 calories and Tom Collins with 177 calories are a little less calorific.

Don't worry about the calories as a fitness expert has shared a workout, letting you enjoy your weekends while staying fit.

Personal trainer Dan Lambert of Maximuscle has recommend a workout for those who want to stay trim while enjoying the 'fruits' of summer.
