CalMac announces 'no further sailings' on Ardrossan to Arran ferry after Covid causes chaos on ship

Arran ferry sailings have been axed after coronavirus wiped out CalMac staff.

The operator said one positive Covid test has meant that 23 close contacts have been required to be tested for the virus.

CalMac says they do not have the resources to facilitate vehicle and passenger operations and a range of sailings have been axed today.

The following sailings now won't/did not operate: departing Ardrossan: 12.30pm, 3.20pm and 6pm. Departing Brodick: 1.55pm, 4.40pm and 7.20pm.

No further sailings from Ardrossan to Arran will take place today, officials said.

The following sailings will operate: Departing Brodick: 3.45 (delayed 1.55pm) and 6.20pm (delayed 4.40pm)

A review will take place at 6pm regarding sailings on Monday, October 11 but CalMac have warned that "there is a heightened possibility of disruption or cancellation at short notice."
