Callum Wilson has declared himself ready to make his Newcastle United debut and has issued a cheeky reminder of his impressive goalscoring record against West Ham.
The Magpies confirmed the £20m signing of the England international on Monday, and the 28-year-old is eligible to make his debut in black-and-white in the season opener this weekend.
Steve Bruce's side will be hoping to repeat their success from last season at the London Stadium, where goals from Federico Fernandez, Ciaran Clark and Jonjo Shelvey sealed a 3-2 victory.
Wilson will have been training with his new team-mates for less than a week, but hopes to be involved in the opening-day contest.
The former Bournemouth striker boasts an impressive record against the Hammers, including a memorable hat-trick in a 4-3 victory in 2015 following the Cherries promotion to the top flight.
Speaking to Sky Sports News following the announcement of the deal, Wilson issued a reminder of his record of seven goals in eight appearances against West Ham.
However, the new Magpies frontman insists it is down to head coach Steve Bruce as to whether he will be handed the opportunity to enhance his record this weekend.
He said: "It's West Ham you know, I like playing against them! It is a nice team to play against, it give mes confidence going into the game having scored so many goals against them in the past.
"I've been working hard at Bournemouth throughout the last few weeks, and I'm ready to get training with the boys and then it's down to the manager's decision whether to put me in or not."
