Callum Wilson is the 'perfect signing' for Newcastle United and Steve Bruce

The signing of Callum Wilson is "perfect" for Newcastle United and "good value for money".

That's the view of pundit and former England international Danny Mills, who believes the new Newcastle striker could net in excess of 15 goals in black-and-white this season.

Wilson completed a £20m move after turning down interest from Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old hopes the switch will keep him in contention for a place in Gareth Southgate's England squad at next year's European Championships.

Mills is convinced Wilson can fill the goalscoring void at St James' Park, and reckons his pace and finishing makes him an "ideal" acquisition for Steve Bruce.

The pundit told Football Insider: "I think it is really good value for money, especially baring in mind what they spent on Joelinton.

“If he plays 38 league games he will probably get you 15, 16, 17 goals. That would be a really good return and goals is something that Newcastle need. He has got pace as well and that can be utilised.

“A fantastic move for Newcastle and an ideal, perfect, signing for Steve Bruce.”
