Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Friday, September 4.
Wilson and six other strikers Spurs should sign
Tottenham are seemingly in the market for another striker to provide competition - or back-up - to star forward Harry Kane.
Below, football.london has taken a look at seven strikers with Premier League experience who could be the perfect fit for Spurs.
Callum Wilson, Josh King, Chris Wood, Diego Costa, Luis Suarez, Olivier Giroud and Troy Deeney have all been named in Rob Guest’s list.
Spurs’ next transfer priorities as squad gets assessed
Tottenham should still be in the market for another striker, despite already being busy in this summer’s transfer window, as Rob Guest writes.
Spurs have already signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty this summer, but an alternative to Kane should be Daniel Levy’s next priority.
Guest has named the centre-forward position as a “priority” for Jose Mourinho and Levy ahead of the transfer deadline.
Spurs suffered last season after not signing a replacement for Fernando Llorente, and despite Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura both playing centrally, Kane was their only out-and-out striker.
Spurs face competition for Real Madrid defender
Manchester United are now firmly in the race to sign reported Tottenham target Sergio Reguilon, according to a report in Spanish outlet AS.
Reguilon has been linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks, as the Spanish full-back has discovered he is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Now, according to the report, United have been established as the new favourites to land the 23-year-old.
Reguilon is tempted by United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer assuring him of guaranteed first-team football at Old Trafford.
