Callum Robinson vaccine stance not a talking point in Irish squad - Nathan Collins

Callum Robinson has the support of his Ireland team-mates going into tomorrow’s World Cup clash with Azerbaijan.

And the West Brom striker’s anti-vaccine stance has not driven a wedge between the players, according to Burnley’s Nathan Collins.

Robinson caused a storm this week when he revealed he has refused the Covid vaccine despite twice contracting the virus.

Some other players in Stephen Kenny’s squad are also unvaccinated but the FAI insists it cannot force anyone to get jabbed.

But Collins, who confirmed that he is double vaccinated, feels Robinson is within his rights to make his own decisions.

In Baku yesterday, Collins said: “It’s his own personal choice. I don't feel like there’s a need to have a conversation.

“I support him at anything he does. The lads support him at anything he does so we haven't really thought into it that deeply.

“It has been a steady thing around the group.”

Collins, 20, added: “People have their reasons, their own personal opinion of it, or personal reasons to get it or not to get it.

“Either way, any of my team-mates or people I know, if they don't want to get it or if they do get it I'll support them."
