Callum Robinson has shared an Instagram message he received from Robbie Keane after his hat-trick against Qatar.
The Republic of Ireland forward became the first man since Keane in 2014 to net three times in a single game, with the performance coming off the back of his two goal display against Azerbaijan.
And Ireland's record goal scorer made sure to message reach out to Robinson after his stunning performance.
Sharing the message on Instagram, Keane said to Robinson: "Congrats pal so happy for you keep it going mate"
Robinson replied: "Thank you Robbie"
And the West Brom forward shared the post, saying: "From the legend himself"
Speaking after the game, Robinson spoke of his delight to become the first player since Keane to nap a hat-trick.
Asked whether he was asked to fill Keane's shoes, he said: "I can say I’m ready but what a hell of player Robbie Keane was, it's a hell of an achievement to be named alongside someone like him.
"I’ve got a long way to go to put my name beside his but I’ll keep working hard and hopefully keep scoring goals for my country.
"I’m happy to get the (man of the match) award, it’s been a crazy week for me but I’m happy to finish off with a few goals - and nice to win with a few goals in front of all the fans."
