Callum Roberts out as Neal Ardley names Notts County team to face Aldershot

Notts County boss Neal Ardley was without two key players for this afternoon's trip to Aldershot as the Magpies made their return from an enforced break.

Star winger Callum Roberts and defender Connell Rawlinson both sat the game out with both players having not travelled for the trip south.

It is the first game Notts have had for three weeks after several key players tested positive for Covid, but they were giving a clean bill of health in midweek enabling them to get their league campaign back under way.

In total there were four changes from the side which faced Maidenhead with Wes Thomas, Sam Graham, Richard Brindley and Jim O'Brien all restored to the team.

Notts were expected to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation with Sam Slocombe in goal behind the back four of Brindley, Graham, Alex Lacey and Adam Chicksen.

Jake Reeves, Michael Doyle and O'Brien made the midfield trio while Ruben Rodrigues, Kyle Wootton and Thomas led the attack.

Notts have attacking options on the bench in Elisha Sam, Enzio Boldewijn and Jimmy Knowles. Ben Turner and Dion Kelly-Evans provided cover to the defence.
