Callum Roberts latest as Neal Ardley names Notts County team to face Sutton United

Callum Roberts dropped to the substitutes' bench for Notts County's clash at Sutton United tonight as boss Neal Ardley made three changes from the side which beat Barnet.

The Magpies boss has looked to protect his star winger after admitting in the pre-match press conference on Monday that the former Newcastle winger was showing signs of fatigue.

Coming in to replace him was Jim O'Brien who was a substitute against Barnet while Richard Brindley also came back into the side after appearing late on from the bench against the Bees.

What was undoubtedly a blow was the absence of striker Wes Thomas who did not travel with the squad after suffering from a virus and that was also the case with Elisha Sam.

Damien McCrory was also dropped to the bench meaning Dion Kelly-Evans switched to left-back for the second time this season. Alex Lacey was also restored to the starting 11 at the expense of Sam Graham.

The full team was Sam Slocombe in goal, Brindley, Connell Rawlinson, Lacey and Kelly-Evans.

In midfield was Michael Doyle, Jake Reeves and Jim O'Brien while up front were Ruben Rodrigues, Kyle Wootton and Enzio Boldewijn.
