Callum Roberts' brilliant three-word response as young fan recreates Notts County wonder-goal

Callum Roberts gave his seal of approval to a young Notts County fan’s recreation of his wonder goal against Barnet.

The former Newcastle winger struck the crucial second goal in the 2-0 win over Barnet as Neal Ardley’s side booked their date at Wembley next weekend.

Roberts picked the ball up on the corner of the box before gliding past two players and then sliding the ball into the bottom corner.

His goal drew gasps from fans on social media who have been quick to dub him the “Geordie Messi”.

But a young Notts fan was filmed doing his best to recreate the glorious strike which boss Ardley described as fantastic.

And Roberts was quick to respond by admitting it was better than his own slice of individual genius.

Reacting to a post by On Our Way Back, he Tweeted: “Better than yesterday’s”.

Roberts’ goal came after Kristian Dennis had opened the scoring for Notts in the first half when he headed in Jim O’Brien’s cross.

The Magpies will be hoping for more of the same magic when they face Harrogate at Wembley Stadium next Sunday.
