Callum McGregor is tenth in the world list of players for competitive minutes played this calendar year.
The Celtic midfielder has been a key man for Neil Lennon this year, and has retained his starting spot while experienced teammates such as Scott Brown and Shane Duffy have had spells on the sidelines.
Despite fighting on four fronts this season in the Scottish Premiership, Europa League, Betfred Cup and Scottish Cup, McGregor is rarely rotated when Lennon decides to change it up.
But just how much of a fixture he has been for The Hoops is underlined by where he ranks in minutes played since January.
The Scotland international had played a staggering 4,106 minutes up until three days ago, and another 120 can be added to his total after yesterday’s Scottish Cup final penalty shoot-out win over Hearts.
That's according to latest figures published by the CIES Football Observatory.
McGregor has clocked up more game time than Scotland captain and Liverpool left back Andy Robertson, who is 13th on the list with 4,049 minutes.
Manchester United’s Harry Maguire tops the list after playing for 4,745 minutes, ahead of Manchester City’s Ruben Diaz and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
McGregor is one of just six British based players on the list along with Maguire, Diaz, Robertson, Bruno Fernandes, Victor Lindelof and Reading’s Michael Morrison.
As for goalkeepers, former Celtic stopper and Scotland penalty hero David Marshall is 11th for minutes played, becoming a fixture between the sticks for Derby County as well as his country.
