Callum McGregor in Celtic 'do our talking on pitch' message as he snubs Fashion Sakala Rangers taunt

Callum McGregor says Celtic will do their talking on the pitch as he admitted to not paying any attention to Fashion Sakala's pre-match comments.

The Rangers attacker stirred up some Old Firm drama not one but twice this week by first branding Ange Postecoglou's side as 'the other mob' before claiming Michael Beale and Co are 'so much better' than the Hoops. His comments caught the headlines with pundits and fans alike in discussion over his words in the build-up to Sunday's Hampden showdown.

Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers labelled the comments 'normal' while skipper McGregor says his only focus is on the 90 minutes of action and how his side prepare and approach the game with the aim to be lifting yet another trophy come 5pm Sunday evening. He said: "I don't pay much attention to it, to be honest. For us, we don't want to comment on any other club or any other players. Is the message to do our talking on the pitch? Absolutely.

"I don't like to talk about other clubs and other players. I already have enough to worry about with myself, my club and the team.

"It's very much the same message for us. We pride ourselves on being humble. When we win, we are humble and when we lose, we are humble. I believe that's the right way to go.

"We are all excited for the game and preparing as best as we can. When Sunday comes and we go over that white line, hopefully we can be successful.

"We are thinking solely about the game, how we prepare and how we approach the game in the best manner possible. Hopefully, if we can do enough right, we will have the trophy at the end."
