Callum Hudson-Odoi wants Uefa action over 'unacceptable' Montenegro fans' alleged racist abuse of Danny Rose

Callum Hudson-Odoi has urged Uefa to take action after claiming that he heard Montenegro fans directing racist chants towards Danny Rose during England's 5-1 win on Monday night.

Gareth Southgate confirmed that England will make a complaint to Uefa after being left in "no doubt" that Montenegro supporters at Podgorica City Stadium directed racist abuse at defender Danny Rose.

Hudson-Odoi, who went over with Rose into the corner near the Montenegro support, claims he heard racial abuse from the fans and labelled the behaviour as "unacceptable".

"I don't think discrimination should be anywhere," Hudson-Odoi told beIN Sports after the game.

"We're all equal and we have to play a fair game and enjoy the moment, but when you're hearing stuff like that from the fans, it's not right, it's unacceptable."

Hudson-Odoi confirmed that he heard the abusive chants - to which he referred as "monkey stuff" - being directed at Rose.

"I hope Uefa deal with it properly because obviously because me and Rosey heard it. You just have to keep your heads and keep a strong mentality.

"Hopefully Rosey is okay as well. We'll have a chat to discuss what happened, but he's got a strong mentality and he's a strong guy so hopefully everything will be good and Uefa do it."

Hudson-Odoi had enjoyed a fine performance on his full debut for England, registering an assist for the second goal scored by Chelsea team-mate Ross Barkley.

While the teenager says he was delighted with the team's performance, the incident tarnished what should have been a memorable occasion.

"It's not right at all," he added. "I was enjoying the game as well and to hear stuff like that is never right.

"You just have to have a strong mentality and we're so delighted for the win so we'll take the win back home."

Raheem Sterling tweeted his reaction to the incident after making a gesture to the Montenegro supporters when he scored England's fifth goal of the night.

The England star, who also created two goals for his team-mates, wrote: "Best way to silence the haters (and yeah I mean racists) #2019 #getsomeeducation".
